Wealth of Experience,

Proven Excellence

Emmys for Outstanding Breaking News Coverage and Outstanding Writing head a list of honors given my radio and TV work as a sports and news reporter and anchor. Other awards include two Mark Twain trophies (California Associated Press Television and Radio Association) and two Golden Mikes (Southern California Broadcasters Association).
Working as Communications Director for California's leading public affairs/ballot measure firm led to being named to Capitol Weekly’s Top 100 in California Politics in 2010.

I am working to develop a distinctive style of play-by-play, infused with excitement and humor. Please see examples on the “listen and contact” page of this site. Let me know what you think. And please let me know of any jobs that need filling.

Returning to My First Love

I am returning to my dream occupation: play-by-play sportscasting. My first job at KTMS AM & FM in Santa Barbara -- after being schooled in Broadcast Journalism and History at USC -- brought a long list of opportunities including being the voice of the UCSB Gauchos men's basketball team, Santa Barbara City College football and weekly high school football and basketball games. I also called baseball and beach volleyball and later at KCOY-TV tape-delayed telecasts of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo football games.
Offers of jobs in news reporting meant leaving the sports work behind. Now I have returned to my first love as the number two play-by-play announcer and news media relations contact for the Pittsburg Diamonds, an independent minor league baseball team in the Pacific Association. I hope to have proved enough talent at the job to get another baseball job and move on to football and basketball play-by-play.
